IR photo, Vågen, Hidra, Norway

#1

X-Pro 1 converted to full spectrum and using IR830 filter. 18 mm f/2 at f/5.6, 1/75 sec. I am fairly new to IR so much to learn. RAW processed in Lightroom.

It’s a nice shot. I don’t have the experience yet to claim full expertise, but I can say that a lot of processing goes into messing with infrared. It’s a fun but steep learning process. I earlier had a Canon 5DM2 converted to 590NM and, more recently, an X-T20 converted, also to 590NM. Always learning. Not sure if you’re aware or not, but the 18mm f/2 is known to be a “not good” performer for infrared, and your image shows an IR hotspot, as sort of a washed out zone in the center of the image…near the tire bumpers on the dock. If you haven’t checked it out yet, see this link: http://fujixsystem.blogspot.com/p/fuji-infrared-lens-tests.html
Have fun with it…I’m doing the same!
